Sound Insulation Technician

HA-Acoustics is a multi-disciplined consultancy with a proven track record of providing high quality, practical and pragmatic advice to a wide range of clients across many sectors.

Providing accredited testing, assessment and consultancy services within the Acoustics industry.

Due to continued and sustained growth, we are looking to recruit a Sound Insulation Technician.

Full training will be provided by the company, including continuous professional development to gain the required certifications and accreditations.

Previous training and experience in sound insulation testing or building construction is desirable.

You will be accountable for carrying out a wide range of responsibilities, as listed below;

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Take Sound Insulation enquiries via phone and email
  • Produce proposed scope of work and fee proposal for client’s needs
  • Follow up enquiries
  • Project manage a site/job report from start to finish, which includes:
    • Invoicing clients
    • Carry out site testing
    • Analyse data
    • Liaise with architects, builders and local authority planning officers
    • Write up technical reports

The Role

Conducting sound insulation testing, for a wide variety of sites, contracts, projects and developments, predominantly across London and the South East.

Interpret and evaluate results from testing and building acoustics, then produce reports based on the results, to present to the client and internal management.

A zest to continually develop skills and understanding of this niche industry is essential.

A proactive and technically skilled individual, who is able to work remotely as well as part of a team to achieve results with a knowledge of construction materials and building site safety.

Effective self-time management to deliver results is essential, in order to meet tight deadlines, with the ability to confidently liaise between clients and other industry contacts. You may be required to work outside of core working hours on occasion.
Membership of the Institute of Acoustics (TechIOA/AffiliateIOA or higher) is desirable but not essential.

Excellent communication skills, supporting colleagues and assist management in growing the business.

Skills:

  • Driving licence essential
  • Strong interpersonal skills, written and oral communication skills
  • High standards in accuracy and quality
  • Basic knowledge of relevant UKAS principles and procedures desirable
  • Good experience of dealing with clients
  • Ability to work on your own
  • CSCS training, health and safety competence desirable, physical ability to undertake manual working.
