NOISE ASSESSMENT AND REPORT TO ASSIST RESIDENTIAL DEVELOPMENT ADJACENT TO A DUAL-TRACK RAILWAY LINE
STAPLEHURST, KENT
HA Acoustics were engaged to undertake a railway noise impact assessment and if necessary, make recommendations on sound amelioration measures for the proposed residential development.
A railway noise impact assessment was undertaken and the noise impact of the railway upon the proposed residential development calculated.
The assessment was required to support a planning application to Maidstone Borough Council (MBC) requesting permission for sixteen residential dwellings to be constructed upon the site.
Sound propagation from the railway was calculated to the nearest proposed noise sensitive façade.
In our acoustic report, HA Acoustics, demonstrated that development of the site, a former smallholding, so as to permit 16 residential dwellings would not cause future occupants to suffer adversely from railway noise.
