Acoustic Adventures in the Isles of Scilly

4 more acoustic jobs for Mark on the Isles of Scilly — and we’re not at all jealous in the office (much!).

What an absolutely stunning place to be working, and Mark definitely got lucky with the weather. The Isles of Scilly never disappoint when it comes to breathtaking views and peaceful surroundings — the perfect backdrop for some precise acoustic work.

Isles of Scilly One of the featured projects includes a beautifully designed open-plan living and dining area, where acoustic comfort is just as important as visual appeal. Proper sound insulation ensures that even in shared or open spaces, peace and privacy are preserved.

Open-plan living and dining area Another project involved what appeared to be a detached residential property — but with a twist. The homeowner had cleverly converted the lower ground floor into a self-contained flat to generate additional rental income. This transformation effectively created a separate dwelling, which introduced a party floor between the main house and the new flat. As a result, sound insulation testing was required to ensure compliance with Building Regulations Part E, protecting both the homeowner and future tenants from intrusive noise. It’s a great example of how even subtle changes in property layout can have significant acoustic implications.

Detached residential property Party walls and floors — the shared structures between adjoining or vertically stacked dwellings — are a critical focus in acoustic consultancy. Poorly insulated partitions can lead to significant sound transmission, affecting sleep, concentration, and overall wellbeing. Our testing ensures that these elements meet the required standards, offering peace of mind to homeowners, landlords, and developers alike.

️ We also had the opportunity to work on a beautiful heritage stone house, where acoustic considerations must be balanced with preservation. These buildings often present unique challenges due to their age, materials, and construction methods. Our team is experienced in delivering sensitive, effective acoustic solutions that respect the character of historic properties while enhancing their livability.

Heritage stone houseAt HA Acoustics, we’re proud to operate nationwide, bringing expert acoustic consultancy to every corner of the UK — even the most remote and beautiful ones.
